Highgate Area Guide

Set on a hilltop with views over London, sought-after Highgate has long had lofty ambitions. A pretty area with an 18th-century village feel, highbrow types are attracted to its elegant and expensive Georgian homes, open space and active community. Although the lively community offers an array of cultural events, the leafy streets and Georgian homes give the area an 18th-century village feel. There are fine Georgian houses in and around Highgate village. Elsewhere, properties are mainly Victorian and Edwardian, with some modern homes scattered around.
